I started off by the River Avon, in a district of Bristol called Shirehampton, then moved around rapidly for 70 years. Education, Employment and Vacations have taken me to many parts of the UK and more recently the World.

For my working life, after a brief and pointless series of jobs linked to Chemistry, I started, managed, owned and subsequently sold a Sign Company. By chance it had the virtue of making Signs that customers really liked, but threw away, and then replaced with more Signs that they also threw away. That wasn't part of the original plan, but that's the way it worked out and I never tried to change it.
 
I've made many mistakes, several more than once. There have been times when life was less than perfect, but my obsessive optimism has seen me through.
